Insurer SLIP Now Available

Attention Insurers! Do you know that you already have access to Insurer SLIP?

Insurer SLIP provides for the search and submission of policy data, the ability to make corrections to data submitted and update Disaster/Catastrophe contact information, access to various types of reports and the establishment of links that connect the user to pre-selected insurer financial data for surplus lines insurers operating in the state of Florida.

In addition to these super tools, the user will be kept current on the insurer software packages available on the FSLSO website. Direct links are provided. Plus, no site would be complete without a window to the hot topics or current news and events of the day. This feature transfers the user straight to the FSLSO website where current happenings related to the insurance world, specifically the surplus lines insurance world, are posted as they occur.

User IDs and passwords for Insurer SLIP have been assigned to all insurer contacts and insurer submission contacts. If you have not received a user ID and password for and would like one, simply send a request to the contact information below. Please include the name, email and insurer name in your request.

The FSLSO is continually working on enhancements to SLIP so please feel free to make suggestions for improvement. Please contact Teri Littlefield at tlittlefield@fslso.com or 1-800-562-4496, x 108 for more information about SLIP.

Attention Foreign Insurers: First Quarter 2008 Premium Reports Due

For all foreign insurers, the electronic premium data report for the 1st quarter 2008 is due no later then 6/30/2008. The quarterly report of policy information should be submitted electronically and include on a policy level basis: policy number, effective date, expiration date, premium amount and name of insured. In the event there is no premium to report, the insurer is required to submit a "No Business" letter or email in lieu of the report by 6/30/2008. Pursuant to Florida Statute 626.9361, a $500 fine per day for each day the failure continues applies to any eligible surplus lines insurer who fails to file a report in the form and within the time required as provided for in the Surplus Lines Law. This begins the day after the report was due and until the date the report is received. Failure to file a report may also result in withdrawal of eligibility as a surplus lines insurer in Florida.
