Citizens Assessment Clarification

The 2.5% Citizens' assessment referenced in Bulletin # OIR-06-023M issued by the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) on November 20, 2006 applies only to authorized insurers and not surplus lines policyholders. FSLSO is waiting for official notification from Citizens and OIR regarding the assessment of surplus lines policyholders. Once received, this information will be communicated to all member agents. All parties have agreed that once official notification is provided you will be given a minimum of 90 days to make necessary programming changes and begin collecting the assessment.

Insurer Updates: Name Changes

Effective November 14, 2006, the name change of Traders and Pacific Insurance Company to Endurance American Specialty Insurance Company was officially recognized in Florida by the DFS/OIR.

Effective November 14, 2006 the name change of Allianz Marine and Aviation (France) to Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (France) was officially recognized in Florida by the DFS/OIR.

Effective November 14, 2006, the name change of Allianz Marine and Aviation Versicherungs AG to Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty AG was officially recognized in Florida by the DFS/OIR.
