FSLSO Announces 2007 Education Schedule

FSLSO will be visiting three locations around the state of Florida during the 2007 year, delivering its new education offering "Do You Know the Code: Florida's Surplus Lines Law and Mitigation."

This course provides students with a detailed review of Florida's surplus lines law relative to agent responsibilities, surplus lines filing requirements, and the Rules of Practice. This course also incorporates a one-hour segment on available premium discounts on property insurance policies based on various hurricane mitigation options.* This course has been approved by the Department of Financial Services for three-hours of intermediate property and casualty credit and one-hour of mitigation options/premium discount credit.

Class registration will open at 8:00 a.m. with class starting at 9:00 a.m. and lasting until 1:00 p.m. This course is free for all Florida-licensed surplus lines agents who may also bring up to two members of their staff at no charge. *Please note, that every general lines agent and customer service representative who is subject to the required continuing education provisions in Florida Statutes 626.2815, must complete, as part of his or her required hours, one hour of continuing education ever 2 years on the subject of premium discounts available on property insurance policies.
