Insurer Software v4.x
The FSLSO Insurer Software was developed to collect surplus lines policy information from
surplus lines insurers. Insurers who conduct business in the surplus lines industry
in the state of Florida must submit data to the FSLSO for review. The FSLSO then
compares and reconciles the information submitted by insurers with the data reported by surplus lines agents.
Insurers are required under Florida Statutes to report information related to surplus
lines policies to the FSLSO. Foreign insurers must report business to the FSLSO every
quarter; alien insurers must report business to the FSLSO annually. All insurers are required
to make submissions to the FSLSO. Foreign insurers must report on or before the end of the month
following each calendar quarter. Alien insurers are required to report annually on or before June 30 of each year.
To aid in the submission of information to the FSLSO, the Insurer Software was developed.
It consists of three major sections: Setup, Policies and Utilities. The Setup section
collects information about the insurer and the agencies with whom they do business. The
Policies section collects basic policy information about the insurer's surplus lines policies.
And the Utilities section allows the insurer to submit data to the FSLSO via diskette or using
the File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
In lieu of using the FSLSO Insurer Software, you may opt to export your information into
the required filing format. Insurers exporting their own files for submission
are required to use the FSLSO FTP Submission software. The FSLSO FTP software and
formatting documentation are available on the FSLSO website.
