My internship at FSLSO was an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only did I gain a deeper understanding of the E&S market, but I also learned how marketing in this field plays a key role in communication, education, and outreach—both within the organization and across the industry. Working alongside professionals who were knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in my growth made this internship especially impactful.
During my time here, I developed a strong grasp of how the E&S market functions and how regulations influence the industry, especially through completing the 60-Hour Surplus Lines Pre-Licensing Course, which provided a solid foundation that proved highly beneficial throughout my internship. I also enjoyed seeing how marketing initiatives strengthen the organization’s connection to the market by promoting engagement and increasing awareness.
FSLSO’s culture is welcoming, collaborative, and truly supportive. I highly recommend this internship to other RMI students and encourage everyone to connect with FSLSO team members at FSU events and speaker series. You will not only learn a tremendous amount about the organization but also gain meaningful insight into the industry as a whole.
