Meenakshi Nalla

I would like to start off by saying, this was the best place to experience my first internship! Not only did I have the opportunity to experience and learn about a new industry like Surplus Lines, I worked in a warm environment where everyone, no matter the department, truly enjoyed being a part of FSLSO.

During my internship, I was able to focus on Data Analytics, a field I’ve been passionate about, while also gaining exposure to other departments such as Risk Management, an area I’m now excited to explore further. It was a wonderful experience working alongside the Analytics Program Manager, Saketh Siripurapu, where I developed my Excel skills and was introduced to analytical tools such as Tableau, Snowflake, and GitHub. I also worked on various projects using S&P Capital IQ to gather data on admitted premiums across different states and years.

Furthermore, while working at FSLSO, I completed and passed the 60-hour Surplus Lines Course, earning a certification that deepened my understanding of the industry and the diverse markets within it. I'm incredibly grateful for the skills I've gained and the people I've met through this internship. I look forward to implementing this knowledge and experiences with me into future professional and personal pathways. Thank you, FSLSO!
