My spring internship at the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office was such a valuable and rewarding experience that really increased my overall understanding of the entire insurance industry and helped me to better recognize my future career goals.
One of the proudest accomplishments of my internship was my completion of the 60-hour Surplus Lines Pre-Licensing Course. This course gave me such a strong understanding of the surplus lines insurance industry and really allowed me to learn more about the regulatory and compliance side of the industry. Being able to apply what I was learning in real time at the office made the experience even more meaningful and really reinforced my interest in the field.
Throughout my time at FSLSO, I also had the amazing opportunity to meet and connect with employees across several departments. These conversations really helped me see how everything comes together at FSLSO and gave me a better understanding of the various different paths you can take in the industry.
Overall, I am extremely grateful for my time at FSLSO. Everyone was so incredibly kind, welcoming, and always open to offer guidance. I would highly recommend this internship to any student interested in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.
