Job Summary
POSITION TITLE | SLIP+ Client Specialist
REPORTS TO | Business Systems Coordinator
PAY RANGE | $51,800 - $77,600
STATUS | Non-Exempt
The SLIP+ Client Specialist position provides support and assistance to the SLIP+ team by providing customer service to agents, agency staff, insurance companies, and regulators in SLIP+ states. This position also performs Premium Reconciliation (PR) duties for the SLIP+ member states by comparing premium tax filings for insurance companies, agents, and insureds to identify premium variances. The SLIP+ Client Specialist also provides support in SLIP+ activities including customer technical support, outreach, and communications. This position assists in the development, review and testing of all SLIP+ technology products, and other related products and services, such as manuals, publications, and training materials.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
PREMIUM RECONCILIATION | 50%
- Compares premium and policy information reported by insurers and agents and determines if additional premium tax filings are required to reconcile premium variances.
- Provides customer service assistance and information to insurance company staff, agents, agency staff, and regulators.
- Monitors policy data reported by agents and insurers to identify erroneous filing patterns leading to manual reconciliations.
- Reconciles all transactions at or above the threshold set by management, and works transactions below the set threshold, as required.
- Communicates with agency and insurance company staff regarding data discrepancies and premium variances.
- Opens and resolves/reconciles all applicable transactions within the timeframes set by management.
- Documents all correspondence with agencies and insurance companies pertaining to unreconciled transactions.
- Assesses interest penalties to transactions identified through the premium reconciliation process in accordance with the laws in the applicable SLIP+ state.
- Provides monthly reports of premium reconciliation activities and metrics to management.
CUSTOMER SERVICE | 25%
- Provide customer service and technology support to SLIP+ state customers (agents, agency staff, policyholders, insurers, and regulators) via phone and email.
- Engage with customers and SLIP+ state staff to analyze needs and prioritize client outreach and communication needs.
- Assist in the development of customer communications, training materials, manuals, etc.
SOFTWARE TESTING | 25%
- Identify SLIP+ system enhancements and updates for consideration on the SLIP+ programming task list.
- Perform system testing for all SLIP+ system changes.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
An associate’s degree, or a minimum of two years experience in insurance, accounting, auditing, or a similar discipline.
Skill/Qualifications
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products. A strong attention to detail, good time management and organization skills, and strong communications skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires in-person workdays. Punctuality and consistent attendance during designated in-person workdays.
- Participation in face-to-face meetings, discussions, and collaborative sessions with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders as required.
- Position requires regular travel to attend and support client visits, conferences and training sessions.
